Coffee Pay-it-forward mania sweeping Canada
We have been following this story since it started and being an internet marketing company I was personally skeptical that this was a PR scheme. I’ve made dozens of calls and spoken to people in the know in the industry and have been unable to find a smoking gun. If it is a PR stunt then have the perpetrators have let it go so far that they’ll never be able to take credit. Tim Horton’s denies having anything to do with it and to this point we have to believe them.
The earliest gesture that I have heard about goes all the way back to December 21, 2012 where a customer started paying for coffees for those in line behind them. In this situation 228 individuals having received a complimentary coffee from the person in front of them paid for the coffees of those behind them.

The incidents have been getting more generous as time has progressed. For those not in-the-know an anonymous man in Alberta bought coffees for the next 500 customers. Since then this wave of generosity has been sweeping the country.

The trend has spread to almost every city in the country with payments of as much as
$1300 have been paid forward. The Tim Hortons kiosk in the Royal Alexandra Hospital was visited by a Good Samaritan not once, but twice in one day.On the morning of July 23rd, staff said a man dressed in scrubs paid for the next 500 cups of coffee.
Monica Kavanaugh, the first woman reported to have paid if forward bought the next 800 coffees and challenged someone to match her generocity.
