As we launch Find Me Coffee and build our functionality, we like to consult with the coffee shops and coffee lovers who use our web site and smart phone apps, to see what they want and need. We have all kinds of ideas and opinions, but we want to hear it from you.
Right now users searching for a coffee shop can filter their results based on a number of criteria: airport locations, open 24-hours, available WiFi, parking, drive-throughs, seating, and food. This is all important information, especially for the coffee lover on the go. But there's something missing - did you spot it?
There's not a lot about the actual coffee! Lots about coffee shops, but nothing about what actually goes in the cup. For the connoisseur who really wants a fine cup of coffee, there's so much more to know. And for the coffee shop owner, who prides herself on the high quality of her product, there's so much more to brag about.
For starters, there's the barista experience. Not every coffee shop has them, and sometimes you just want a cup with cream and sugar. But if you're looking for something with espresso, steamed milk, and a little panache, you want a barista to make it for you.
Then there is the source of the coffee beans themselves. Can you buy fair trade coffee, so you know the coffee growers and pickers aren't being exploited? Or can you buy organic coffee, to reduce the chemicals used in growing and thus reduce the impact on the environment and your own body?
So are these important? For coffee lovers, what else is important when selecting the very best coffee experience? For coffee shop owners, what do you want to boast about the most? What do your customers care about?
